Wednesday Nights on the Lawn
Join us this summer on Wednesday nights in July from 6:30 - 8:30 PM as we gather on the lawn to both enjoy the summer evenings and also get to know each other better. Each Wednesday evening we have a different activity planned. Check the schedule below and invite a neighbor to come and join you. If we encounter inclement weather along the way, don't worry. We will move inside. So, come and enjoy some summer fun.
Wednesday July 6: Jigsaw Puzzle Competition
Our first activity is a jigsaw puzzle competition. Gather a team of up to 8 people and see if your team has what it takes to complete a 500 piece puzzle in the least amount of time. Teamwork is the key so choose your teammates wisely! 😉 Register your team when you arrive at the event.
Wednesday July 13: Canvas Painting Workshop
Our second week activity is a canvas painting workshop. This workshop will be led by Krystal, an artist who teach and lead participants as they paint their own work of art. Come allow your creative talents to emerge as you paint a blank canvas into something beautiful. This workshop is open to anyone 8 years old and older. Participants who are between the age of 8-13 need an adult helper to accompany them at the workshop. Wednesday July 20 : Food Trucks & Sidewalk Chalk Extravaganza
For our third week, on July 20, come enjoy some dinner from one of the food trucks that will be parked along 71st street. Both the "El Caribe" and the "Sweet Racks and Smokin Butts Barbeque" food trucks will be serving food from 4:00 - 7:00PM that you and your family can purchase. In addition to the food trucks, we will also have a sidewalk chalk extravaganza. Before or after you eat, each person or a group of people will be able to decorate one 'square' or section of the sidewalk. After everyone is finished, we will go around and choose our top three favorite designs. Come enjoy some good food and conversation!
