Congregational Prayer Requests

Please continue to pray for God’s comfort and peace to surround Tammi, Caleb, Ellia, Gabriella, and Braeden Agar in the passing of their husband and father, Jason Agar. (Elder: DeVries) 

Clare and Marly Baar are thankful to God that Marly is feeling stronger, breathing better, and is able to be more active. Her upcoming appointments are mainly for maintenance of her current health status. They appreciate all the prayers and support from their Covenant Church family. (Elder: Vander Weide)

Linda Coleman is continuing to struggle with leg weakness and pain. Please pray for strength, pain relief, and healing. (Elder: Padding)

Ann Cool continues to struggle with heart issues. She has another appointment on May 20. Please pray for healing for Ann. (Elder: Brinks)

Gord DeBoer began a new treatment for his cancer. Please pray that the treatments are successful, for minimal side effects, and for healing. (Elder: Patterson) 

Madelon Gelder fell and broke her hip. Please pray for patience and complete healing for Madelon. (Elder: Patterson)

Hussein Hasan fell and broke his pelvis. Please pray for complete healing and patience for Hussein. (Elder: Jammal)

Please keep Gerry Hoekema in your prayers as he continues his cancer battle. (Elder: Jammal)

Please keep Virginia Huizenga in your prayers as she is experiencing severe pain. Please pray that the pain will be relieved and that God will surround her with His comfort and peace. (Elder: Padding) 

Michele Neuberg is meeting with many facial specialists to explore options to repair her facial damage. She is facing a rather lengthy process. Please pray for patience and healing for Michele as an exact plan is identified. (Elder: Padding)

James Ngabonziza continues with weekly kidney dialysis and remains on the kidney transplant list. Please pray for patience and strength for James and his family during this process. (Elder: Padding)

Karrie Noble continues to work with her doctors to manage her high blood pressure and chronic migraines. Please pray for patience and wisdom during this process. (Elder: Padding)

Please pray for Karen Petchauer and her family as her uncle passed away in Florida. Please pray for God’s comfort and peace to surround Karen and her family. (Elder: Brinks)

We give thanks to God that Ethan Schaiberger has returned home safely after his honorable discharge from the Army. (Elder: DeVries)  

Please continue to pray for minimal side effects, strength, peace, and healing for both Jeff and Tammy Todd as they continue their fights against cancer. Thank you for all your prayers! They are deeply needed and appreciated! Bob and Bev VanderHeide (Elder: Jammal)

Becki Vander Molen is struggling with episodes of very low blood pressure. Doctors are running tests to try and determine what is going on. Please pray that they choose the correct test and that they can determine the cause of these blood pressure drops. Please also pray that Becki’s application for disability is accepted. (Elder: DeVries)

Bill Weaver is home from Mary Free Bed and recovering well. He is walking more about his home with a walker and is looking forward to being done with the antibiotics soon. He and Carole are thankful for the prayers and support from their Covenant Church family.  (Elder: Vander Weide)

Please pray for American civilians and military members who are in the Middle East and who may be in harm’s way. Please pray for their safety. Pray specifically for TJ Brigham (US Navy stationed out of Bahrain) and Katie Westra Kamdem and her boys (live in UAE).

Please keep the members of our congregation who are fighting cancer in your prayers.

Please keep our shut-ins in your prayers. Many of them struggle with loneliness and/or other health concerns that we are unaware of. Please keep them in your prayers.

Please keep the students, mentors, and prayer partners who are part of our Kids Hope program at Southwood School in your prayers as they wrap up their meetings for this school year.

Pray for our Hand2Hand program. Pray for the students who receive food from this program. Give thanks that we can help provide weekend food for kids in our community.

Pray for the Furniture Ministry that they will have enough volunteers to continue to serve the people in our community who need furniture.

Pray for our elders and deacons as they seek to follow God’s will as they make plans for our church.

Pray for our staff that they will remain energized and encouraged in their daily work here at Covenant Church.

Pray for all the 8th grade, 12th grade, and college/university/graduate school students who are graduating this spring. Pray for them as they finish up their school year and as they make a transition to the next stage in their life. 

This month, pray for your neighbors who live closest to you. Pray for the households that live around you on your street, in your condo community, or in your apartment complex. As the weather warms up this spring, walk your neighborhood and pray for your neighbors as you walk.

On each day of the week this month, focus your attention on different things each day. Take time to complete the following sentence prompts for your prayers…

MONDAY –                 “Today we pray about things that will be happening in our family and our world this week. Things like… _________________.”
TUESDAY –                “God, your love is so big! You love us more than we could ever imagine. You show your love for us in so many ways like…________________. “
WEDNESDAY –         “God, we are so thankful for all the people who love us and make our lives better. We are thankful for…_______________.”
THURSDAY –             “God, thank you for making a wonderful world for us to live in. Your creation is so beautiful! Thank you for…_______________.”
FRIDAY –                    “We don’t always do what is right. Sometimes we even do mean things on purpose. And sometimes we don’t feel like loving each other. Lord, forgive me for…_______________.”
SATURDAY –             “God, when we look back on the past week, we know that we have so much to be thankful for! Thank you for all the good things that happened this week. Things like…____________.   Thank you for being with us during the hard things that happened. Things like…_________.
