We express our sympathy to Clare Baar and Bev and Jim Berghorst in the passing of their wife and sister, Marly Baar. Please pray for God’s comfort and peace to continue to surround them and their family during this time. (Elders: Vander Weide, Jammal)

Please pray for Matthew Bakelaar as he is in Georgia for basic training. Please pray for peace and strength for him. Fay Berger was able to return home after spending some time at The Oaks for rehab. Give thanks for the healing Fay has received and continue to pray for complete healing. (Elder: Brinks)

Linda Coleman continues to struggle with leg weakness and pain. Please pray for strength, pain relief, and healing. (Elder: Kruithof)

We express our sympathy to Ann Cool Wellman in the passing of her mother-in-law, Esther Wellman. Ann is also still struggling with some health issues. Please pray for God’s comfort, peace, and healing to surround Ann and her family. (Elder: Brinks)

Gord DeBoer passed away in October. We express our sympathy to his children Scott, Julie and Susie. Please pray for God’s comfort and peace to continue to surround the DeBoer family during this time.  (Elder: Hirdes) 

Cheri DeHaan has had two chemo treatments. She will have 3 chemo treatments, each 3 weeks apart and then a scan and probably surgery. God is good and Cheri is feeling good and has peace. Please continue to pray for Larry and Cheri as they continue this journey, that Cheri’s treatments go well, for minimal side effects and for healing. (Elder: DeVries)                 

Doug and Deb DeKam were in a serious car accident at the end of June. Give thanks to God for the healing Deb has received so far and pray for continued and complete healing and strength. (Elder: Jammal)

Tom Diephouse had hip replacement surgery. Give thanks that his surgery went well and please pray for pain relief and complete healing. (Elder: Vander Weide)

Please continue to pray for Risala Albadra and Hussein Hasan. Hussein has been diagnosed with a lung mass and still has an open wound that is not healing. Risala is continuing to receive weekly platelet injections. Please pray for healing and for strength and trust in Jesus to carry them through these struggles. (Elder: Jammal)

Gerry Hoekema is receiving chemo treatments. Please pray for minimal side effects and for healing. (Elder: Jammal)

Please keep Virginia Huizenga in your prayers as she is still experiencing severe pain. Please pray that the pain will be relieved and that God will surround her with His comfort and peace. (Elder: Kruithof) 

Please pray for Randy Knoll as he is receiving treatments to take care of a return of his cancer. He is scheduled to have surgery on November 16. Please pray that Randy’s treatments go well, that his surgery can happen as scheduled, for healing, and for God’s peace to surround him and Marijo. (Elder: Brinks)

Franklin Meckes spent some time at Helen DeVos Children’s hospital in October beginning dietary treatment for his disorder. Please pray that Franklin will continue to adjust to his new diet and that it can successfully treat his disorder. (Elder: Kruithof)

James Ngabonziza continues with weekly kidney dialysis and remains on the kidney transplant list. Please pray for patience and strength for James and his family during this process. (Elder: Kruithof)

Marge Peuler is dealing with severe pain in her feet. Please pray for pain relief and healing. (Elder: Brinks)

Gord VanderArk developed some bleeding issues while he was visiting his son in Texas. He has been discharged from the hospital in Texas and here in Grand Rapids, has returned home and is doing well. Please continue to pray for healing for Gord. (Elder: Kruithof)

We express our sympathy to Bev and Bob VanderHeide in the passing of their stepson, Jeff Todd. Jeff’s wife, Tammy, is still receiving treatments for her cancer. Please pray for God’s comfort and peace to surround Bev, Bob, Tammy and their family during this time. Please also pray for healing and minimal side effects for Tammy as she continues her treatments. Greg Vander Wal has returned home to Westwood AFC after his hospital stay and rehabilitation. Give thanks to our God for the healing He has given. (Elder: Hirdes)

Pastor Jeff began radiation treatments due to his rising PSA numbers. Please pray for healing, that his appointments and treatments continue to go well, and that God’s peace surrounds Pastor Jeff, Tammy, and their family during this time. (Elder: Hirdes)

Please keep the members of our congregation who are fighting cancer in your prayers.

Please keep our shut-ins in your prayers. Many of them struggle with loneliness and/or other health concerns that we are unaware of. Please keep them in your prayers.

Pray for the members of our congregation who struggle with the colder temperatures and season changes. Pray that God provides them with safety and good health during these winter months.

Please keep the students, mentors, and prayer partners who are part of our Kids Hope program at Southwood School in your prayers as they are meeting weekly.

Pray for our Hand2Hand program. Pray for the students who receive food from this program. Give thanks that we can help provide weekend food for kids in our community.

Pray for the Furniture Ministry that they will have enough volunteers to continue to serve the people in our community who need furniture.

This month, walk the streets of your neighborhood / condo community on a regular basis, praying for wherever you see the Holy Spirit at work, bringing unity and healing, as well as asking for God’s intervention where there is brokenness and division. Pray for the emotional, physical, relational, and spiritual well-being of your neighbors.

Pray for our elders and deacons as they seek to follow God’s will as they make plans for our church.

Pray for our staff that they will remain energized and encouraged in their daily work here at Covenant Church.

Pray for all the churches in our Classis, Classis GR South.

Pray for the various ministries of the Christian Reformed Church using the guides found HERE.
